It protects the devices and the infrastructure from damage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Details<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In case of a short one consumer in the circuit isn&#8217;t creating a resistance. (&#8220;bad&#8221; faulty device)\n<pre>R \u2248 0 Ohm, I = U\/R, U \u2248 230V, I \u2192 \u221e<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>In case of an overload are too many consumers in the circuit. (They are parallel.)\n<pre>1\/R = 1\/R1 + ... + 1\/Rn, R \u2192 0 Ohm, I = U\/R, U \u2248 230V, I \u2192 \u221e<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Setup<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The MCB gets passed just by the required phase conductors of that circuit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>RCD<\/strong> (Residual-Current Device)<\/p>\n<p><u>Basics<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The RCD disconnects the circuit in case the current between the input and output differs.
