Non-Kodokan throws

There are plenty of typical throws teached in Judo, which are not officially listed by the Kodokan.


Ashi-waza

Kake

– O-soto-gake (Kodokan: O-soto-gari/otoshi)
– Ko-uchi-gake (Kodokan: Ko-uchi-gari / Ko-uchi-makikomi)
– O-uchi-gake (Kodokan: O-uchi-gari)

Barai

– Ko-uchi-harai (Kodokan: Ko-uchi-gari)
– O-uchi-harai (Kodokan: O-uchi-gari)

On the official YT channel from the Kodokan you can see in the Ko- and O-uchi-gari video the second shown variation is a Barai and not a Kari.


Koshi/Te/Sutemi-waza

– Kubi-nage (Kodokan: Koshi-guruma / Tai-otoshi)
– Te-guruma (Kodokan: Sukui-nage)
– Eri-seoi-nage (Kodokan: Seoi-nage)
– Kata-seoi-nage (Kodokan: Ippon-seoi-nage, In the Nage-no-kata this throw is called Seoi-nage)
– Tama-guruma (Kodokan: Kata-guruma / Uki-waza)
