Reducing the risk of injury from swimming

The following modifications will reduce the risk of getting injured from swimming.

General hints
– After a longer pause, start easy!
– Train the external rotation of the shoulder.

Breaststroke
– Wide legs: Creates less pressure on the medial meniscus while straightening the leg.

Front crawl
– Body rotation: Reduces the ROM of the shoulder during recovery and therefore reduces the impingement on the long head of the biceps.
